We are to have up to one foot of snow by the time the snow ends today. A couple of days ago it was in the 60s! Go figure! February Thaw? Saying Good Morning and Hello!
Coffee at the right! I have grandchildren visiting me! As it is February vacation. They are doing their games at this time. It’s been fun to get all the hugs in. I have been creating Barbie doll clothes. This is something I am very practiced in, after having two girls. Both Jacobie and Clairissa had so many it filled the washing machine to the top! Halfway was the level for baby doll clothes. It has been years since I have sewn clothes.
Next week will be a week of writing the instructional manual, and falling back into research. I will be working with a writer and editor. That is very exciting! There is something about diving into a challenging writing project when you have guidance.
When the instruction manual when done? There are two types of students, those who do Shibui Found Image Art as artists and those who plan to be instructors. The manual will help both with what they need to know about the foundation. Once certified they will teach live, or local groups.
I am all set up for teaching live. At some point in time, I will work with one of my more advanced instructors to ensure the setup I have in mind will work. (A practice run?) Ya.
This is a splatter of watercolor. Yellow and red watercolor which has blended, and then enhanced with pastel pencils. It has been outlined with Black India Ink Micron Pen. An 05. Notice how those not outlined create a sense of depth. If I had created lines to break this up into more parts, and if I had added shading___this intentional work would have created the illusion of dimension. (Depth and shape.) Notice the flatness.
I live in Southern Maine. I am the owner of Anisette Studios. My website is https://www.anisettestudios.com/ Here you can view and purchase Shibui, sign up for my newsletters, blog, and read articles about Shibui Found Image Art. Patrons get great deals several times a year and special items at times. My site makes it easy to contact me. My primary art form is Shibui Found Image Art. Shibui begins with action art and stems from the imagination. It is like seeing something in the clouds or solving a puzzle. Its creative process has its own rules and requires what I call reverse engineering due to a lack of an understructure and purely out of the imagination. In addition to those who patron me, my target groups are those who use art therapy. I will soon be teaching live. Contact me if you would like to learn live. I use Zoom. I request that although my art, other images, and what I write is now published by me here on WordPress; I do ask you do not to use my artwork, poetry, or the information about Shibui Found Image Art without my permission. I am quite available to make such requests. I wish to share the following: The existentialist philosopher Simone de Beauvoir wrote a book called The Ethics of Ambiguity. In it, she lays out a guiding ethic in response to the philosophy of existentialism. It might be somewhat familiar to you already. She writes, “To will oneself free is also to will others free. This will is not an abstract formula. It points out to each person concrete action to be achieved.”
Best wishes to all! Have good times and keep safe! Pejj
