I Don’t know who said this first, but I heard it all my life. Espoused by one family member or another, and so I pass it on. The day changing. It is a sunny Sunday! After one heck of a windy night! I am wondering how many branches have come off trees. As long as there are no broken windows, etc. The one that has scathed the windy night? I will have to check the gazebo as it is near the woods. I climbed out later, just laying there half awake. Feeling no rush, Sunday is my excuse. I think I will listen to a book. The Redemption of Althalus by David and Leigh Eddings has been pulled up on the kindle. Althalus is a professional thief who is pressed into service by the Goddess Dweia to save the world from the destruction by her evil brother Daeva and his henchman Ghend a vicious character doing the dirty work. Althalus is taken in by her, she takes him on an interesting journey that’s for sure. I have read this book before, so did my daughter. We loved it, so it’s worth reading or listening to! Therefore a cozy sweater and cup of cocoa? “The chair?” The after 12:00 set about tidying the house? Perhaps. Raisin bread toasted and a cup of coffee, and I am good.
Today’s “I should’s” are to make some orange/cranberry muffins for Alex and me. And to make something using vegetables like spinach, and a protein from one source or another____I did not get the roast yesterday. I have Cod or Haddock in the freezer, so I can make a nice Sunday meal. Alexander will go for hotdogs or chicken patties_____I can always offer. Merlock as a one-track mind of dry cat food.
Today’s Joyce Hifler? “Love is not a proud thing given only to me____so that I can point to it as if it were my private accomplishment___but it is the highest, the kindest, most gentle, respectful, and giving emotion____ever to be expereinced____it has no need to shout, for its presence is like a garden of flowers I cannot see___but their beneficent influence diffuses itself within my soul.” And that is a lovely thought to begin the day with. Embracing love is always a good thing. Feeling peace in the heart, is a very good thing. Sending forth good intention, no matter how you do it, be in prayer or good thought sent forth____its a good thing to remember all other life. And even for those who do lousy things. I ask that they learn how to love. Because that is not an easy lesson to learn. It takes a great deal of work, of thought to truly love. May they first learn how to love themselves, for that is where love begins. All else comes through love of self because if you know how to love yourself, then you know how to love others. Love takes on the responsibilities of a much greater thing. Love can hurt at times, deeply____but it is what helps us to survive.
