Claude Debussy and powdery snowfall! The fireplace’s going, although it is electric____but it gives the warmth___without the crackle___the illusion. But lugging wood would not work for me. I have thought of gas one day?
Now? A snow-globe world outside the picture window! With slow-moving traffic, a dump truck sanding____folowed by a long string of many big trucks and other vehicles?
Ahhhhhhh____ I see! The world will slow down today and perhaps traffic is rerouted this way now the bridge new, wider____. There was a fireman going by earlier____. This feels wintery, tomorrow the weatherman said it will all go away.
I think I will turn the tree on and find a warmer sweater. One of my new turtle necks, as there is a chill even with the fireplace. Maybe it will be a good day to read, find some cocoa, and slow my body down as if it were a Sunday and not a Wednesday. Give myself permission to slow down and watch the consistent travelers going by.
I am remembering snow storms watched from the windows of my childhood home.
I live in Southern Maine. I am the owner of Anisette Studios. My website is https://www.anisettestudios.com/ Here you can view and purchase Shibui, sign up for my newsletters, blog, and read articles about Shibui Found Image Art. Patrons get great deals several times a year and special items at times. My site makes it easy to contact me. My primary art form is Shibui Found Image Art. Shibui begins with action art and stems from the imagination. It is like seeing something in the clouds or solving a puzzle. Its creative process has its own rules and requires what I call reverse engineering due to a lack of an understructure and purely out of the imagination. In addition to those who patron me, my target groups are those who use art therapy. I will soon be teaching live. Contact me if you would like to learn live. I use Zoom. I request that although my art, other images, and what I write is now published by me here on WordPress; I do ask you do not to use my artwork, poetry, or the information about Shibui Found Image Art without my permission. I am quite available to make such requests. I wish to share the following: The existentialist philosopher Simone de Beauvoir wrote a book called The Ethics of Ambiguity. In it, she lays out a guiding ethic in response to the philosophy of existentialism. It might be somewhat familiar to you already. She writes, “To will oneself free is also to will others free. This will is not an abstract formula. It points out to each person concrete action to be achieved.”
Best wishes to all! Have good times and keep safe! Pejj
LOL, I shall. And the turtle neck. We found the gazebo at a fair. They had a hot tub in it, and we purchase the one they displayed in as a deal. They come as a kit. They have insulated doors and windows. I thought that would be a perfect studio space. And Thomas being Thomas bought it for me. If I move, I will miss it. If I recall right it is 12×14. I have two drawing tables in there, an easel, chest/seat for storage, a microwave stand for draws. A drawing bench, tressel table, a cozy chair to read in, and a chair to go with the drawing tables, trash can too! LOL A couple of other things. It has a beautiful fan light, the blades look like leaves.
That’s a lot of snow by Beetley standards, but your gazebo is impressive indeed! Stay warm by your fire of illusion, dear Pejj.
Best wishes, Pete. x
