“As Robert Browning put it, “You must mix some uncertainly with faith, if you would have faith be.”
Very interesting thought! I can see the validity in it. Much like knowing the ying, and yang of things. Or____ “What is “bad”? & “What is good?”___ “Bad You say!”___The reality is that what is “bad” has an opposite and that is “good!”___LOL!
To know what is bad we must know what is good! But it does not end here and it’s less confusing to simply understand that what is most important is what is at the very center between bad and good! The fact of knowing both is the balance of both.
The extremes will always be whatever they are and we can always lean towards what is good! Put more weight on that end of things and the bad stuff can mostly slide off!
“We want so much to know something for sure. I know I always do! Control. Contol is hard to hang onto. “We want so much to know something for sure. We want desperately to look at something and say, “Now, this is a fact, this is for real, I don’t doubt it.” And then only moments later it is difficult to believe anything.___It may be that our problem lies in the fact that we put our faith in what we can see when we have been told to look beyond appearances. But if the uncertainty makes us search, at least it keeps us moving and alive. It keeps us questioning, and when we question we find answers that cause us to renew our faith.” With faith, we can find hope.
