Good Morning! Camaraderie in a moment
I like when unique moments in time happen. Tom called these____
One such moment was when I had given my mother some facial skincare cream. And she had been using it a while. My daughter Jacobie and I went for a visit. It was obvious that mom had been using the facial cream, yet all around her lips there were deep wrinkles, the rest of the face smooth. So I took the risk of asking mom; while Jacobie caught on to my question with a dubious look at me. Like really? You are going to ask her about her face? Should I leave now? Or watch this? I finished, asking “Mom? Have you been putting the cream around your lips? To Jacobie’s surprise. Mom just said, “No.” Well, my daring came out and I said, “I think you should.” To this, she said, “Why?” I said, “Because your mouth looks like a puncture made in bread dough by a finger.” The unexpected happened. We all broke out in laughter! Tears came out from eyes. It was a great moment in time, No matter how dubious it may have been. I lucked out. Mom was a bit tricky at times so such moments felt rare. Humor? Had worked. If it had gotten works I thought someone else might say something or just avoid looking at mom least their imaginations kick in like mine always has since a kid! A similar thing happened when my brother was caught up with his imagination looking at Mom severely scolding him. He thought she looked like Witch Hazel from Pop-eye and thus called her “Witch Hazel when she was mad at him. Again, this made Mom laugh! She got it! She did look a lot like Witch Hazel I observed. But I am not telling her that! Skipper, my brother can get away with it, I dare not!
