I have a garden in my mind___in which I walk sometimes____and in the glowing gold____of a setting sun____a rose of courage climbs___and finds its way along the fence___that protects and holds my heart____And all along the walk of love____the flower of peace makes its start____A mockingbird in all its joy____sings deep within the night. ____And rest comes gently drifting down____and I spend my tranquil hours____within the garden of my mind____among the fragrant flowers.
As I grieve Thomas this poem comes to mind. It can be found in Joyce Hifler’s To Every Thing There Is A Season. Chapter 2. I find her books a comfort, and much food for thought. To write so beautifully! AHHHHhhh!
When I think of Thomas, it is like being in this very garden. How lucky I was.
Life is what we make it, it is what path we take. Look to what is good in life, it is there! If we do not experience what is “bad” we do not know what is “good.” It’s the in-be-tween these two things where the balance is found. Simply knowing the difference, so we can make the best choices.
Trusting in Tom, letting him in to my heart, was a good choice, I had already known something quite different. We do not have to remain with what tears us apart, where we can not thrive and be ourselves. Even if the cost seems great at the time. It’s vital not to lose who we are for the sake of others. Being loved for who we are is the ultimate.
Best wishes! Good morning! Let the sunshine in! Or make some of your own! Pejj
