The rivers edge where a dark pool begins to soften___
Not deep water, so it will give up its mysteries in time.
Light of day__a glance will tell me when and where.
Translucence will reveal settled things, uneven rocks__
These setting below the water, with sharp glinting edges,
Casting shadows, waiting undisturbed.
River grass catches the eye, waving gentle back and forth undecided.
It hides things. It laughs with me whispering. At times I weep.
Wrapped in thick sweater. I love it all! This peacefulness.
My bottom, a block of ice upon the granite perch.
The morning sky a golden glow. It opens up, I investigate___
Twittering songs filter into my thoughts, sweet.
Dewy grass enfolding Blue Flags laced with spiders webs.
Brighten shafts of light cascade through rattling Poplar trees.
Against a back drop of conifers, always green.
Delighted fish have come to do their sportive ritual to feed.
I sit and think or just be one with the world, for I am!
A warm cup of coffee which I sip from time to time.
And I think of you, you and me___the way things were__
You would love to be here, but you are! The gentle sense of you.
A promise comes__The warmth of memories. I love you!
And you love me! Familiarity comes from sojourns here.
The mountain trails shared. I will come to sit, to watch and listen,
For you my love__to watch and listen, and think of you.
