Good morning! Sunshine! Here I sit coffee at hand. What treasure will I open up to? AH! There it is!
“To be relieved of pain is a wonderful thing___and to be relieved of fear is even greater__for it is surprising how many people suffer from fear__not just ordinary fear of things and situations, but fear of life__the terrific responsibility that seems to come with it.” Joyce Hifler, Pathways, Rewarding thoughts for better days. Think about these things, and To everything, there is a season. 3 treasure-able books.
It is said, that we are “our own worse enemy!” And in that statement apparent truth. Not only are we an enemy of ourselves but we can become enemies of one another. Not all others__ because we do gather those about us whom we feel safe with or kin to.
But what comes to mind if we think about fear and pain? If we ask why? Or what is it really? The cause is? The answer may not so bad once we get to the source. It is likely something we can handle. Fear causes pain,__ pain is what hurts us, and then there is anger in various degrees because we should not be afraid or hurt. As we deal with the hurt, pain, and fear we react to it. The key is how we react to it.
Fear, pain, and the resulting anger can become “precious!” Now isn’t that an interesting thought? Babies are supposed to be precious! Hurt, fear, anger? Precious? It becomes that way if we hang onto it and cultivate it, stay with it, and bring it up in a flash! Then it is precious. I watched my mother call all her pain, hurt and anger up all my life. I watched her protect herself from these things. She did not move out into the world in a way she longed to do. Nor did I for years! She set my example, and I did not recognize that. I instead tried to protect her. It colored all my relationships. Could this kind of reaction be behind so many of us? Even our leaders? Yes! We are all human and being human, we all grew up and bring with us our reactions to what we experienced each age and stage of living life. If we do not think about our words and actions, then there we are___responding as we do___ The mind takes it in then tells the body, both remember! Such things are a part of our fears and anger. It is not a time to blame our parents either, for they were no different in how they processed their own lives. Our foundations are much more complex and we don’t have or we don’t take time to sweep of the dust.
We feel we need to protect ourselves from hurt and anger. We have all sorts of ways to protect ourselves. Not feeling is one of them. Not going there another. Avoidance…and then there is what we think is true of ourselves….this alone can make you a prisoner to your thoughts. Whatever that self-talk is… The act of blocking off what we fear, means we are not dealing with it. But fear and anger do not go away! If we don’t put it in perspective. If it does not have its place. We need to have more time to be. We don’t have to be a society that works as much as we do. We could change that up! We need time to be with one another to have the time to love one another, to talk with one another. To see the world at large and do things to heal the earth. We don’t have to measure time as we do to make better use of living life.
Joyce Hifler continues her thoughts: “Very often those people are prosperous, in the best of physical health, and with few worries___yet, the feeling of fear is so strong and the chance of something happening looms to great to bear___ they think since they cant see anything, can’t put their finger on the problem__it must be the great unknown that no one can deal with__and perhaps the thing that is hidden is faith___it can become so smog bound that fear overcomes it__like the sun going under the storm cloud___but with a little knowledge and understanding they must realize the sun is still shining__and so shall their faith when they learn to depend on it.”
We can have faith in one another! We are more alike than we believe. The color of skin, what we look like is but an outer shell. Who we are is inside of us. We all have the potential to be good or bad, and whatever the range there is between. We do not have to just go with it! We can change the world! We can be all that we can be! We can have love, hope, and faith in ourselves and others. We need others to survive and make life worthwhile. This is what we all deserve! No one is less of a person. We can all in a flash hurt one another. There is something behind that mindset which brings forth a range of what is evil in our minds, our realities, But we can make the efforts that change those things. Hate has never been the answer. War has never been the answer. Society can be very different, and then the past can be the past. We are better than the way we have been. Change the factors that make us less than we can be!
“Please, be gentle in your reproach of me___who is better aware than I of all the stupid things I do? ___who can possibly suffer as much because I have to live with it all the time__and you only touch it occasionally. ___Please, be gentle if everything I say does not suit your thinking___so many times our beliefs are not so far apart___it is just that I am not so capable of expressing them in a way that doesn’t ire just a tat__after all, we do learn from one another by listening to what someone has to say__by examining our own thoughts and being curious about what makes us tick__but it all comes so much easier when the words are spoken gently, so please?” Joyce Hifler.
